Hematology is the medical specialty that deals with the study, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the blood and organs that participate in blood production, such as the bone marrow, spleen and lymph nodes, among others.

Hematología

A Hematologist treats diseases such as anemia, leukopenia, hemophilia, acute and chronic leukemia, multiple myeloma, platelet disorders, etc.

Our hematology is an expert in bone marrow aspirate, bone marrow puncture biopsy, electrophoresis, exchange transfusion, therapeutic plasmapheresis, lumbar puncture, chemotherapy , therapeutic bleeding, transfusion of blood or blood products, allogeneic bone marrow transplantation, autologous bone marrow transplant,, coagulation disorders.

All patients may be susceptible to needing a Hemorrhagic and / or Thrombotic risk assessment (abnormal clots) during the course of any disease or after surgery.

Hematologist

Dr. León is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Benemérita Universidad de Puebla (BUAP).

He has a subspecialty in hemostasis and thrombosis from the Ignacio Chávez National Institute of Cardiology, endorsed by UNAM. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of benign and malignant diseases that originate in bone marrow.

Author and co-author of medical articles, he served as professor of clinical cycles at the UNAM Faculty of Medicine and visiting professor at the First National and International Meeting of Residents and Subspecialists in Cardiology with “Clinics for Patients with Oral Anticoagulants, High Quality Anticoagulant Management.”

He is a founding member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Trombosis y Hemostasia and Certified by the Mexican Council of Hematology A.C. and endorsed by the National Association of Cardiologists of Mexico, A.C.

He is the hematology Associate Physician at ISSSTE Regional Hospital in the state of Mexico, as well as the physician assigned to the Oncology and Transplantation Service at Hospital Ángeles Lomas, Hacienda de las Palmas, Huixquilucan, Mexico. 

Dr. Leon is currently Head of the Blood Bank at Hospital H + in Los Cabos.
